Coach Ian, Originally hailing from Dallas, Texas, Ian Dempster boasts an impressive tennis career, starting as a top junior in the state. He committed to playing college tennis at NC State University in 2013, where he quickly ascended to a top 10 ranking in the ITA doubles rankings.

Coach Ian, Originally hailing from Dallas, Texas, Ian Dempster boasts an impressive tennis career, starting as a top junior in the state. He committed to playing college tennis at NC State University in 2013, where he quickly ascended to a top 10 ranking in the ITA doubles rankings. 

Following his graduation in 2017, Ian made a pivotal move to Wake Forest University, where he not only played a pivotal role in securing an ACC Championship but also contributed significantly to clinching a coveted NCAA National Championship title.


Ian's journey continued onto the ATP Pro Tour, where he achieved a career-high ATP doubles ranking of 360. His accomplishments include one futures title and a semi-final appearance at a ATP Challenger. Notably, during his time on tour, Ian trained here at CMT.  Ian has coached at CMT in 2020/2021 during the pause on the ATP tour.


With nearly 8 years of coaching experience, Ian has honed his skills at several local tennis programs. His expertise, passion for the sport, and commitment to player development make him an excellent fit for our tennis program.

With a foundation built on years of high-level competition, J’Wan brings a deep understanding of athletic performance from both the athlete’s and coach’s perspective. A former NCAA Division I football player at Campbell University (2013–2017), he has since dedicated his career to helping elite athletes reach their full potential through science-backed, sport-specific training.


Over the past several years, J’Wan has fine-tuned his expertise as an athletic performance coach, working with a range of professional athletes across the NFL and ATP. His holistic, individualized approach focuses on optimizing performance, preventing injury, and building mental and physical resilience.


In addition to coaching at the professional level, J’Wan is passionate about youth development in sports—believing in the power of athletics to shape confidence, discipline, and life skills from an early age.


Fun Fact: When he's not on the field or in the gym, you’ll likely find him casting a line—fishing is his go-to reset and a lifelong passion.

With over eight years of coaching experience, Tom has worked with players of all levels—from juniors to adults—at Tennis Club Bercuit in Belgium, as well as through private coaching across public parks in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill (RDU) area of North Carolina. His coaching style combines European fundamentals with the intensity of U.S. collegiate tennis, with the goal of developing smart, resilient, and confident players.


Playing Career Highlights:


  • Competed as an NJCAA Division I athlete at Barton Community College in Kansas, where the team qualified for the National Championships two years in a row. Tom played a key role in the team’s success through skill, commitment, and sportsmanship.
     
  • Completed his college tennis career at NCAA Division II Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, following the COVID break.
     
  • Ranked among the Top 200 tennis players in Belgium in 2019.
     

Hometown: Grez-Doiceau, Belgium


Fun Fact: Although not a fan of winter, Tom enjoys snowboarding when the season allows.

Rebecca grew up in Massachusetts where she developed a lifelong passion for both playing and teaching tennis. She went on to play Division I collegiate tennis at UNC-Wilmington, where she captained the women’s team and graduated with the most singles wins at the time in program history.

Rebecca grew up in Massachusetts where she developed a lifelong passion for both playing and teaching tennis. She went on to play Division I collegiate tennis at UNC-Wilmington, where she captained the women’s team and graduated with the most singles wins at the time in program history. 


As a coach, Rebecca has focused on junior development. She has expertise in technical training, tactical development, and advanced video analysis. As a proud RSPA member, Rebecca has published academic articles on player ratings.  She is also USTA High Performance Coaching Certified and Safe Play Certified.


Rebecca coached at the junior Grand Slams and her players have been ranked #1 in Tennis Recruiting, #1 in USTA, Top 25 ITF, obtained Division 1 scholarship as well as achieved ATP rankings in both singles and doubles.  


Fun Fact: Rebecca’s mother, Susan, was listed in Sports Illustrated Faces in the Crowd in 1962 for playing on the men’s tennis team at Merrimack College in Massachusetts because no women’s team existed.  Rebecca hopes to inspire other players to continue breaking barriers in the sport.

Coach Grace is a talented tennis player with a bright future. Since she moved from Colorado at the age 13, she has been training at CMT. Grace has consistently trained and improved her skills on the court, even taking up coaching duties to help mentor the developmental group and teach private lessons. A graduate of Crossroads

Coach Grace is a talented tennis player with a bright future. Since she moved from Colorado at the age 13, she has been training at CMT. Grace has consistently trained and improved her skills on the court, even taking up coaching duties to help mentor the developmental group and teach private lessons. A graduate of Crossroads FLEX High School, Grace is playing Division I tennis at Wofford College this Fall and is an inspiring role model for other tennis players looking to do their best on court. Grace has been ranked as high at 116 in the NCAA ITA rankings.

Caleb Richmond

Caleb Richmond is a graduate of NC State University, where he also competed on the club tennis team. Prior to college, he gained extensive experience through junior tournaments during his high school years. Originally from Winston-Salem, he later moved to Raleigh for his studies.


Fun Fact: Caleb has memorized 100 digits of Pi.
